ISOB Keogh

Details:

In the center of the cemetery. Isolated Burial

A standard upright US Military white inscribed gravestone.

Danny Keogh was born in Ireland and immigrated to the US in 1944.  He enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War and was killed on March 17, 1953.

Despite the inscription on his grave stone, 19th Infantry Regiment of the 24th Infantry, alternate sources of information indicate that Keogh served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was killed during the Battle of Hill 355 “Little Gibraltar” on March 17, 1953 (Source Index of Korean War Casualties and The Korean Project referencing “The Irish in Korea”). These alternate sources seem to be more correct as the 19th Infantry Regiment was not fighting in Korea in March 1953.
