Town Liberation Plaque- 9th & 90th Infantry Divisions

On the wall to the right of the entrance to the churchyard.
An inscribed black marble plaque.
The plaque remembers the liberation of the town of Orglandes on June 17, 1944 by the 9th “Old Reliables” Infantry Division (39TH Infantry Regiment) and by the 90th “Tough Ombres” Infantry Division (359th Infantry Regiment) in the wake of the Normandy landings.
The plaque was dedicated during the 50th anniversary of the event in June 1994.
