A large upright hewn stone inscribed listing the names of the local World War 2 dead which includes Sigvald Adolfsen Alver, a Norwegian-American, who served in the US 99^th Infantry Battalion (Separate-Norwegian). The 99^th Infantry was a unit made up of primarily Norwegian-Americans many born in Norway.  

PFC Alver was born in Alversund, Norway in 1906 and later immigrated and lived in Minnesota.  He was killed while serving with Company C, 99^th Infantry on October 22, 1944 during the Battle of Aachen.  He is buried in the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Belgium.
