Details:

On the D109 between Chorges and Prunières, two small towns on the north side of the Lac de Serre Ponçon. Monument A rough cut stone with an airplane propeller blade bolted to the side and text in French.  In memory of the crew of a US Army Air Force Consolidated B24 Liberator who crashed here on 19 July 1944.  The US bomber was returning from a mission over Munich. The crew was saved by the inhabitants of Prunières and Savines and by the resistantance of Reallon.

English translation:

On 19 July 1944 an American bomber returning from a mission over Munich crashed here. The crew was saved by the inhabitants of Prunières and Savines and by the resistantance of Reallon.
