Marker

A low brick memorial bearing a rectangular metal plaque commemorating the men and women of the United States Air Force who were based in Essex during World War II. The memorial was erected by the Essex Anglo-American Goodwill Association. During World War II, there were several military airfields in the surrounding area of Colchester (RAF Birch, RAF Boxted, RAF Wormingford, and RAF Earls Colne) where the United States Air Force was stationed.
