325th Fighter Group Memorial
Details:
In the walkway adjacent to the waterfront across the street from a camping area.
A concrete monument with a brass inscribed plaque attached to the front. The sides are painted with the "Checkertail" pattern used by the 325th Fighter Group.
The memorial remembers the 325th Fighter Group "The Checkertails" or the "Checkertail Clan" who flew from a base near this location in 1944 and 1945 in the 15th US Air Force.
