Iron Men of Metz- 95th Infantry Division

On the east side of the D-1 about 300 meters form the translation.

Monument

A white stone sculpture of an eagle on a white stone base commemorates the US 95th Infantry Division, the Iron Men of Metz.  A stainless steel inscribed plaque is mounted to a low concrete pillar in front of the sculpture.  

The memorial also includes an information board remembering the 95th Infantry Division operations around Metz in 1944. The 95th Infantry Division was commanded by Major General Harry Twaddle and was part of General Walton Walkers's XX Corps.
