Lieutenant Colonel Albert Peter Dewey Plaque

Details:

The plaque is located on the eastern wall within the cathedral in a side chapel. It is approximately halfway between the main Rue du Bienvenu entrance and the altar.

Plaque

The white marble plaque features engraved red text in French. The plaque was placed at the site to honor Lieutenant Colonel Albert Peter Dewey who was shot to death in a case of mistaken identity by Viet Minh troops in September 1945. He was the first American fatality in French Indochina following WWII.
