Milestone of Freedom & 90th Infantry Division Plaque

Details:

At the intersection of Duefstrooss and Um Burgknapp, the monument is between an open field and a small farmhouse.
Monument

A cement pillar decorated with a torch painting, on a base in the shape of a five point star. The two information boards display pictures from the liberation and reconstruction of Berle and the surrounding area. There is also a plaque a few feet away on the side of the old dairy.

Shoulder to shoulder, they liberated Europe and made a Better World.

Second Plaque on wall of old dairy building reads:

1945-2005

If this old dairy could speak, it would say:

"I have been standing here 60 years ago and I saw the destruction of my village.

I alone survived. So let an old veteran salute old veterans".

In gratitude to our liberators, the 90th U.S. Infantry Division.
