The monument is a stele between flagpoles and an information sign. 

Monument
The memorials is a fieldstone stele with gold leaf inscription in French. The memorial commemorates American Pilot Officer Leroy W. Saunders, who died on September 4th, 1944. Officer Leroy was flying a a P47 Thunderbolt, series 227647, which caught fire during an air attack. He served with the 314th Squadron of the 324th Fighter Group.
