5th Infantry Division Stele (Fay-en-Haye)

Details:

On highway D958 between Limey-Remenauville and Fay-en-Haye. When driving west towards it, it is 3.6 km from the intersection of D958 and D3. It will be on the right hand side, directly on the side of the road.  Marker


This concrete stele bears the 5th ID's red diamond insignia and a metal plaque. It is one of 27 such steles that mark significant locations for this US 5th Infantry Division during WWI. This particular stele marks the spot where a brigade headquarters was located at the end of the St. Mihiel Drive, a major American offensive.
