"HUNTINGTON COUNTY, INDIANA RECORDS: SCOTT, GRAHAM ELWIN - - - Private Son of Court E. and Mamie Mader Scott (deceased); born December 27, 1900, Huntington, Ind. High school student. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army January 3, 1917, Ft. Wayne, Ind. Sent to Columbus Barracks, Ohio; transferred to San Antonio, then to Eagle Pass, Tex. Assigned to Company H, 26th Infantry; overseas in June, 1917. Cited for gallantry in action and especially meritorious service. Killed in action July 19, 1918, in Battle of Soissons. (Burial place unknown.)"

He is now buried in Aisne-Marne American Cem., Belleau, France. He also has a cenotaph in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, Huntington County, Indiana, USA.
