When Azle Bryan Kline was born on October 17, 1897, in Missouri, his father, William, was 25 and his mother, Minnie, was 20. He had four brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Mechanic in Company I, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 (at the age of 20) in France and is now buried in Fairview Cemetery, Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas, USA.
