Alfred Libstein entered the military service in New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company K, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument in Company I of his unit.
