When Remington Ira "Remie" Kelly was born in August 1889, his father, Thomas, was 37 and his mother, Caldona, was 28. He had five brothers and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company K, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 18, 1918 and is now buried in Lincoln Memorial Park, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, USA. His first name's initial is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as P.
