Pioter Iwanicki entered the military service in Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 19, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument under the 28th Infantry.
