When Randall J Reid was born on May 7, 1894, in Collyer, Kansas, his father, Harry, was 23 and his mother, Clara, was 19. He had three brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action but declared "Missing" on July 20, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France.
