Private Cochran entered the service in December, 1917. After a short period of training at local camps, was attached to Company "E," 28th Infantry, 1st Division, with which unit he embarked for overseas. Private Cochran was killed in action near Soissons, France on July 19, 1918. He is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France.
