When Paul Carrington Venable was born on December 18, 1892 in Danville, Pittsylvania County, Virginia, his father, Samuel, was 26 and his mother, Jean, was 25. He had one brother and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a First Lieutenant in Company I, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 20, 1918 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
