Stanley Russell Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Harris, was born at Irvington May 7, 1897, and spent his childhood days at Menomonie. When 12 years of age his parents moved to Boyceville. At the age of 20 years he enlisted in Co. H. 32 Div. 128 Inf. at Menomonie on June 11, 1917. He trained in Superior Camp Douglas and Waco, Tex., and sailed for France the last of February, landing there March 4, 1918. He was then He was then transferred into the 1st Div. 28 Inf., and was killed in action July 19, 1918, at Soissons. The remains arrived in Hoboken on May 7, 1921. He is now buried in Tiffany Cemetery, Boyceville, Dunn County, Wisconsin, USA.
