Son of James G. and Mary Elizabeth Ritchie; born August 1, 1890, Meade County, Ky. Moved to Tippecanoe County, Ind. in 1902. Entered service October 6, 1917, Lafayette, Ind. Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky.; transferred to Camp Shelby, Miss.; assigned to Company II, 152nd Infantry. Sailed for France June 12, 1918. Assigned to Company I, 28th Infantry, 1st Division. Killed in action July 21, 1918, Chateau-Thierry. Buried "Somewhere in France." - from a book clip in findagrave.com.

He is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is inscribed on the Buzancy monument as a Private Ritshie.
