When Charles T. "Bobby" Lewis was born on September 12, 1920, in Mississippi, his father, Charles, was 45 and his mother, Vernona, was 32. He had two brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in Company B, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He was Killed in Action on December 23, 1944 (at the age of 24) and is now buried in Belzoni Cemetery, Belzoni, Humphreys County, Mississippi, USA.
