When John P. Morden was born on September 23, 1921, in Victor, California, his father, Albert, was 23 and his mother, Adeline, was 19. He had one brother and one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in HQ 2 Company, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He was Killed in Action on December 21, 1944 (at the age of 23) during the Battle of the Bulge and is now buried in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, San Mateo County, California, USA.
