Ben F. Browning was born in July 1893 in Lee County, Kentucky. He was the son of William T. and Rebeka Creech Browning. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in Company A, 1st Machine Gun Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on July 19, 1918 in France and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
