Curtis Jole Wilson was born in 1897 in Hawley, Wayne County, Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Army during Wolrd War I as a Private in Company E, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was declared "Missing in Action" on July 19, 1918 and is commemorated on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France. American Legion, Post 311 in Hawley, PA is partialy named in his honor. The Post is designated the Wilson-Kelch Post. His name is commemorated on the Buzancy monument in the MISSING IN ACTION section of the monument. Also, he is listed on a WWI memorial plaque in Wayne Memorial Hospital.
