When Vincent "Vince" Inman was born in December 1886, his father, John, was 38 and his mother, Clemantine, was 30. He had three brothers and four sisters. He entered the service on September 22, 1917 in Bedford, Indiana and was sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Army during Wolrd War I as a Private in Machine Gun Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 23, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France.
