Charles Ed Leigh was born on March 28, 1896 in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. He entered the military service in Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company I, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on July 18, 1918 and is now buried in Oise-Aisne American Cemetery, Seringes-et- Nesles, France. His name is commemorated on the Buzancy monument in the MISSING IN ACTION section of the monument.
