"Jens Christensen served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company K, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He left for camp early in the spring of 1918, and after receiving training was sent to France some time in the latter part of the summer of 1918.
He saw considerable service on the western front and was killed in action in the Argonne offensive in 1918 shortly before the close of the war. His name is commemorated on the Buzancy monument in the MISSING IN ACTION section of the monument."
