When Roy C Dozier was born in February 1898, his father, Charlie, was 29 and his mother, Catharine, was 27. He had four brothers. He entered the military service in Georgia. After a short period of preliminary training in local camps, Corporal Dozier embarked for overseas attached to Company "C," 16th Infantry, American Expeditionary Forces. He served in the Soissons Drive and was killed in action in the Argonne Forest Sector on October 8, 1918. He is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He also has a memorial in Sharon Methodist Church Cemetry, Sharon, Taliaferro County, Georgia, USA.
