When Fred Laverdure was born in 1891 in Lewistown, Montana, his father, Norbert, was 26. He married Vitilin (Vitaline) Berger on April 20, 1913, in Fergus, Montana. They had two children during their marriage. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 7, 1918 and is now buried in Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston, Montana, USA.
