When James Alfred Haught and his twin sister Mary Alice were born on March 23, 1892, in Doddridge, West Virginia, their father, John, was 39, and their mother, Ann, was 33. He had three brothers and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company F, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 9, 1918 and is now buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Salem, Harrison County, West Virginia, USA.
