When Charles L. Baudry was born on June 6, 1891, in New Orleans, Louisiana, his father, Jean, was 40 and his mother, Louise, was 25. He had three brothers and three sisters. Baudry enlisted in New Orleans on July 2, 1911. He served with General Pershing in the Philippines from 1911 until the time of his discharge in 1917.
In 1915, when President Wilson called out the National guardsmen for the Mexican trouble, Baudry again enlisted and served with the regular army in Mexico.
When the first contingent of United states regulars was sent to France in June of 1917, Baudry was along and fought at Cantigny, Chateau Thierry, St. Mihiel, and the Marne. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
