When James Edward Greenwood was born on July 16, 1889, in Trenton, New Jersey, his father, John, was 35 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 37. He had three brothers and two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company L, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 9, 1918 and is now buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County, Ohio, USA.
