When Eddie Albert Dalton was born on November 17, 1889, his father, Francis, was 36 and his mother, Anna, was 25. He had two brothers and four sisters. He came to Illinois with his parents in 1890 and was a student of the Douglas public school. He lived for awhile in Bates County, MO. He enlisted and left for Camp Gordon on May 27, 1918. He sailed for France the latter part of July and was in Company M, 15th Infantry. On October 2, 1918 he was killed in action somewhere in France. He is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
