When Joseph C. Momber, Jr. was born on April 2, 1895, his father, Joseph, was 30 and his mother, Eva, was 34. He had one brother and three sisters. He entrained on May 29, 1918 in Benton, IL. He left for France on July 17, 1918 and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company A, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1918, at the age of 23 and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
