Edwin Korstad was born on December 26, 1899. He entered the military service in Trosky, MN on April 25, 1917. He trained at Douglas, AZ and departed overseas on June 10, 1917. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 7, 1918 and is now buried in Rose Dell Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Jasper, Rock County, Minnesota, USA.
