When Waite Alfred Cross was born on November 29, 1894, in Manlius, New York, his father, Alfred, was 35 and his mother, Ida, was 31. He married Minnie Eva Pritz in August 1917. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company C, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1918 in Picardie, France and is now buried in Fayetteville Cemetery, Fayetteville, Onondaga County, New York, US.
