When Elmer F. Lindskog was born in 1895 in Minnesota, his father, Magnus, was 34 and his mother, Ida, was 30. He had three sisters. He entered the military service in Washington and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company H, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Resthaven Cemetery, Richland, Benton County, Washington, USA.
