When James B. Farrar was born in 1901, his father, James, was 38 and his mother, Laura, was 31. He had two brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company I, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 5, 1918 in France and is now buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA.
