Walter H. Wood was born on May 15, 1894 in Terre Haute, Vigo County, Indiana. He was the son of Henry Z. and Seba Delilah May Wood.
Service record: Drafted into U.S. Army from Terre Haute, Vigo, Indiana on 26 Apr 1918. Sent to training at Camp Taylor, Kentucky and later transferred to Camp Mills, New York. Shipped out for Overseas Duty on 21 Jul 1918 assigned to Company G, 337th Infantry, 84th Division. Re-assigned to Company I, 26th Infantry, 1st Division. Pvt Walter H. Wood was Killed in Action in the Argonne Forest, during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, on 5 Oct 1918.
