Giovanni Filice was born in 1894 in Rogliano, Provincia di Cosenza, Calabria, Italy. He entered the military service in Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Machine Gun Company, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 4, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. His name is also listed on the Veteran War Memorial in Canton, CT.
