Frank Faithful Dubord was born on December 8, 1892 in Lewiston Junction, Androscoggin County, Maine. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company E, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action but declared "Missing" on October 5, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Saint-Juvin, France but his surname is inscribed as Duboid. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross posthumously and cited as follows:
Dubord, Frank F. (2725538) Company E, 28th Infantry, 1st Division
At Exermont, France, 6 October 1918. Responding to a call for volunteers, he proceeded 400 yards ahead of his platoon to ascertain the location of the enemy. The mission accomplished through an extremely heavy fire, but he, after obtaining his information, returned over the same ground and made his report to the platoon commander. R- Chisholm, Me.
