When Bryan Stallings and his twin brother Bunyon were born in March 1898, their father, Sydney, was 36, and their mother, Frances, was 33. He had three brothers and two sisters. He entered the military service in Mississippi and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company G, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Saint-Juvin, France but listed in Company E of his unit.
