When David (Dave) Galloway was born on January 4, 1889, in Forteviot, Perthshire, Scotland, his father, Thomas, was 27 and his mother, Mary, was 21. He was inducted in the Army on February 15, 1918 at Thompsonville, Connecticut. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company F, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 6, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
