Robert J. Cuffman was born on July 31, 1893. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Supply Company, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 1, 1918 at Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France at the age of 25 and is now buried in Allen Cemetery, Allen, Collin County, Texas, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Saint-Juvin, France but his name's middle initial is inscribed as G.
