Joseph Edwin Henry was 22 years old and enlisted in the Regular Army when 18. He sailed for France on July 11, 1918 and served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Battery C, 6th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Division. He was Killed in Action on November 2, 1918 and is now buried in Cypress Hills National Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings County (Brooklyn), New York, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in Saint-Juvin, France and ranked as a Private.
