Thomas A. White was born in July 1894 in Russell Springs, Russell County, Kentucky. He was the son of Benjamin White and Lillie Ellen Miller Smith. He entered the military service in Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Ambulance Company No. 13, 1st Sanitary Trains, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 8, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
