World War I casualty. Died of wounds received in action in the Meuse-Argonne. Pvt., Co. E, 1st Ammunition Train. Awarded the Croix de Guerre; Certificate for gallantry in action and especially meritorious service, signed by the Commander of the 1st Division, and a certificate for bravery signed by General John J. Pershing. Buried in the American Cemetery at Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Meuse, France. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren W. Baker, 2323 W. Fourteenth Street, Sioux City Iowa.
