When Eugene Weldon Rogillio was born on November 30, 1887, in Louisiana, his father, Rufus, was 34 and his mother, Mary, was 31. He had five brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company M, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action but declared "Missing" on September 12, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, St. Mihiel American Cemetery, Thiaucourt, France.
