Raymond Arthur Snyder was born in March 1898 in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Daniel A. Snyder and Mary Catherine Haag. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in the 149th Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd Infantry Division. He died on April 3, 1918 in France at the age of 20 and is now buried in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, USA.
